Last Post

The time has come to say goodbye to our blog. As we continue to grow, we are finding that we need one central Spooneez site. I have loved working on our blog and creating a place where people can find information about our wonderful product.

This site will close down soon or will redirect you to: www.rollupthemess.com.

Thank you again to everyone for all of your support!

Cheers,

How do YOU use your Spooneez?

So, we've been told Spooneez can be used in a variety of ways, not just to carry dirty spoons/utensils, baby food, wipes, etc. Some use, even the Original size, to carry their child's toothbrush and toothpaste (although I think you'd have to be stashing a small toothbrush and travel-size toothpaste), medicine, bug bite cream, hand sanitizer...the list goes on. It has been neat to hear about how Spooneez can be so versatile - who knew??

However, one of the sweetest "How do YOU use your Spooneez?" responses we have received, was from my nephew Liam who is 2 years old. He does not like his food touching yucky surfaces and so his Mommy, being very smart, turned his Spooneez into a placemat!! She sent a picture of a proud Liam, eating his snack at the pool, keeping his food from getting gross thanks to his very own Spooneez!

I think he has opened a creative can of worms...Robin & I may be looking at a new Spooneez spin-off in the near future! Thanks Liam :)

Oh, and we HAVE to ask - How do YOU use your Spooneez? Email us (Maythi or Robin) and let us know! And if you have not yet bought your Spooneez, what are you waiting for?? Go to www.rollupthemess.com to order online.

The evolution of Spooneez

We thought it would be fun to take a look back at where we started & how far we've come! All our prototypes, from the very first one my Mom sewed, to our final product. It took several years, a lot of trial and error, much research, several broken sewing needles, many kinds of fabric, and indispensable advice & encouragement. But most of all, lots & lots of hard work and love.

Enjoy as we present to you, the evolution of Spooneez...

New Patterns

WOW!! So much has happened I don't even know if I will remember to include it all!!
Robin and I have been doing some major marketing, working on finding a local manufacturer, ordering some MAD fabric, and filling many more Spooneez orders than we anticipated (this is a good thing!).

In the process, we have learned so much and know this is only the beginning. We have sold out of a few patterns, but will be restocking some and replacing others. Our fabric manufacturer is discontinuing some of the fabrics we had chosen, so we had to regroup and create some new pattern combos we hope you will LOVE!! I will include them on this post so you can have a sneak peek. Hopefully none of these will be going anywhere anytime soon!

On a sales note, we had our first online sale this month (a shout out to Massachusetts) and are excited to announce that starting tomorrow, Spooneez will be available at O Baby Organics in Winston-Salem (next to Whole Foods) and Accessorize This in Lewisville.

We continue to work hard at creating a wonderful product. As always, we thank everyone for their unending support, advice, and encouragement. We could not have gotten to where we are without our families and our friends.

Keep rolling up the mess & helping us spread the word!

Cheers,
Maythi & Robin

Roll up the mess!

Our website is up & running! Visit www.rollupthemess.com to check out our products.

Thank you again to all of you who attended the Open House. It was a great success and we are excited to now offer products online.

The pre-website launch pricing was our introductory Spooneez offer! We have had a wonderful response and are working with a local manufacturer who is helping us sew our Spooneez. We continue to offer what we believe to be a reasonably priced product. Robin's sewing shop is down to part-time employment. I know she is relieved!!

We hope all of you will share our website with your friends and family and thank you again for all your support and encouragement as we trek along this adventure!

Cheers,
Maythi & Robin

And the winner is...

The winning name for our limited edition pattern is: Lil' Rascal

Congratulations to Ildi Revi for submitting the winning entry. We will be emailing further details on your free Spooneez!

After much thought, Robin & I decided that our pattern names should be influenced by the little people who inspire us the most, our beautiful children! In fact, Maria, Robin's oldest, picked her favorite fabric and named it all by herself!! I think we have an entrepreneur in the making :)

Matá Maria

Reesy Roo

Reillyland

Gabbylicious

Blue Camoo

We also have a Travel Spooneez in "Mo Dots", a pattern combination of our colorful dots with an inner solid red pocket - a picture will follow soon!

Spooneez will be available for sale starting April 1st. Our website is still under construction, but very close to completion. In the meantime, you can order by emailing us directly (Maythi or Robin). We also plan on having an open house on Sunday, April 19th from 2-4pm at Robin's house to showcase Spooneez as well as have them available for purchase.

Thank you once again to all of you who have encouraged, supported, and cheered for us on this journey. Robin and I are so grateful to so many wonderful people who have given of their time, knowledge, and expertise to help us reach our goals.

We hope you all will "Roll up the mess" with Spooneez!

Name that Spooneez!

We are so close to having our first batch ready! We have received our labels and fabric, figured an assembly line of sorts, and gotten our first few patterns sewn. The website is still under construction, but coming along nicely. We are still shooting for end of March/beginning of April for its launch.

We have names for all our combos, except one. We need help naming our limited edition combination, the big red squares with red/black checks. Only a limited amount of Spooneez will be available in this combination.

We thought it would be fun to have a "contest" where you can send in your name suggestions. The winning entry receives a free Spooneez - your choice of size (mini/regular/travel) and your choice of fabric combo!! SO, get those creative juices going and send in your ideas to Maythi or Robin.

We will announce the winner and unveil the combo name on Friday, March 27th!! Also stay tuned for the rest of the combination names which will be posted on the same day.

Again, thank you for your support, encouragement, and most of all, patience, as we continue to try and get our product ready for the market.

Cheers,
Maythi & Robin

Spooneez Unveiled!!

Here it is...the moment we've been waiting for. We introduce to you...Spooneez.

Roll up your mess with our portable, wipeable, washable utensil carrier.

When your baby utensils are dirty and you're on the go, forget the ziploc bags and paper napkins. Spooneez will roll up the mess. Two pockets secure your utensils, while an extra long pocket can hold anything from a pacifier, to baby food, or wipes. Fold over, roll up, secure with velcro or tie, and your mess is gone, keeping your diaper bag, purse or pocket clean!

Spooneez features include:
* Portable
* Easy to clean/wipe
* Durable fabric
* Compact - fits in diaper bags & purses
* No assembly required

We hope to have Spooneez available for purchase by the end of the month. They will originally be for sale on our website (www.rollupthemess.com) or by contacting Maythi or Robin.
We will have several pattern combinations to choose from.
NOTE: Pictures on our blog are not necessarily fabric combos we will have for sale. These were fabrics we used when creating our prototypes.

We also will be offering three sizes of Spooneez:
Original Spooneez - $16
Our original Spooneez includes 2 utensil pockets + one extra long pocket (available w/tie)
Mini Spooneez - $14
A smaller version of our original, still capable of holding 2 utensils + extra long pocket (available w/velcro)
Travel Spooneez - $20
Perfect for overnights, our Travel Spooneez can hold toothbrushes, toothpaste, meds, hairbows, brushes, etc. & rolls up to protect your items (available w/velcro)

Thank you again for all your support and encouragement as we embark on this journey. We have loved every minute of it and are excited to see what the future holds for Spooneez!

Cheers,
Maythi & Robin

Progress Report

February is almost behind us, and what a month it has been! We held our focus group mid-month and received amazing feedback and suggestions. We had a vote on our blog for fabric choices and were excited about how many people took time to vote! Thank you to all of you who did. We have ordered our fabrics and Robin will be busy sewing (Maythi will be busy prepping) our first batch of Spooneez! We will be filing our patent pending next Thursday and will unveil Spooneez to the public by the weekend.

Spooneez will be for sale shortly thereafter - our website should be up & running by the end of March, but if you are interested in buying one before then, we may be able to get a select few out before the website launches. We will keep everyone updated!

As always, thank you for your continuing support.

Cheers,
Maythi & Robin

Almost ready to launch

Our Spooneez adventure continues...

We have finally found fabric we LOVE (see below for just a few of our samples) and a design that we think is perfect, cute, and practical. Robin has been hard at work behind the sewing machine, spending endless hours creating our product. We have met with our Marketing/PR person and cannot wait to get the ball rolling. If all goes well, we hope to launch Spooneez into the retail market in March.

Stay tuned for more updates & info. We are so excited and only hope everyone else will be too.

The website is still under construction, but we hope to have it up and running soon. You will be able to order Spooneez online if there is not a retailer near you!

Cheers,
Maythi & Robin
